Empowering stakeholders: shaping sustainable EU products

Eran Shay, ESBA Senior Vice-President, took part in a 2 days training seminar titled: “Empowering stakeholders: shaping sustainable EU products”, in November 2025, at the EU Joint Research Centre in Sevilla, Spain. The event saw participation with representatives from over 20 different organisations across the EU. The objective of the seminar was to recreate the dynamics of a real stakeholder consultation and the analysis and evaluation that flows from such consultation, in relation to the EU sustainable product policy, and possible Directive and regulations that will be brought about as part of this EU policy. This involved the use of Environmental assessment tools in the context of EU product policies, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Product Environmental Footprinting (PEF), and Stock Model Building. Stakeholders feedback was also evaluated on the Methodology for Ecodesign of Energy-related Products (MeerP) and Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
