This week has been the kick-off for ESBA's 20th Anniversary celebration. By means of a series of events, we highlighted this year's main theme for SMEs within EBSA: The Future of Entrepreneurship!
On 26 June, ESBA brought together entrepreneurs from accross Europe for a three-part workshop, created by Google (held at their exciting new premises within BE Central), on how to improve their social media strategies and stay relevant in today's fast moving market. Whether your business is online or offline (brick and mortar shops), not having at least somewhat of an online presence is simply not going to work anymore in 2018. The workshops started off by focusing on the very basics of social media and online marketing and then delved into specifics, by determining which platform or platforms suit your business best. What is your message? What is your purpose? And how are you going to communicate this to your audience, and ultimately, your potential clientele.
The workshops were followed by a lunch debate at Brussels iconic Maison du Luxembourg, where we discussed, together with real small business owners, a variety of matters - from Articifial Intelligence (AI), to robotic and Education.
The day culminated in a very dynamic panel debate, kindly Hosted by MEP Anthea McIntyre (ECR) in the European Parliament's Committee Rooms, where a number of MEPs, SME representatives, and reps from the tech industry (Google, eBay) debated over where the Future of Entrepreneurship is headed. A very responsive audience made this event even more relevant and valuable to our members and SMEs throughout the EU.
We would like to thank everybody involved in the creation of this very fruitful day and hope to see you all again after summer for more ESBA events on the subject!
