On 21 June, ESBA held its annual event 2017, on the topic of Better Regulation and how to keep the agenda relevant in a turbulent EU environment. It was a day of exchanging views between policy makers, Brussels stakeholders and, most importantly, SMEs.
We are particularly grateful to First Vice-President Frans Timmermans for giving us an hour of his time to discuss this important topic in detail. Our audience shared some relevant thoughts with him to take away from the event. Similarly, Mr. Timmermans offered some much appreciated clarifications.
From the European Parliament, MEP Andreas Schwab addressed the attendees, followed by a Q&A and MEP Anthea McIntyre, who has proven to be a true advocate for SMEs time and time again, took part in our panel discussion and shared her interesting new initiatives with us. Nick Wallace from the Center for Data Innovation brought a refreshing critical note to the event, joined by Mirjam Bink, successful entrepreneur and member of ESBA and Lars Andersen, who presented the challenges of being a cross-border e-commerce trader.
We thank all the speakers and attendees for a successful event!
