THE EUROPEAN SMALL BUSINESS ALLIANCE WELCOMES ITS NEWEST MEMBER UMIS-SMEA
The European Small Business Alliance (ESBA), a non-party political European group which cares for small business entrepreneurs and the self-employed and represents them through targeted EU advocacy activities, as well as working towards the development of strong independent advocacy and benefits groups in European countries, welcomes its newest member UMIS-SMEA, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs' Association. ESBA is one of the largest organizations based on voluntary membership in Europe. Through its direct membership, associate membership and cooperation agreements, ESBA today represents almost one million small businesses and covers 36 European countries.
UMIS-SMEA is Croatia’s leading SME organization, representing some 1850 members, consisting of a multilevel membership of associations, cooperatives as well as companies and individuals, through lobbying activities, counseling, advice and training. The organization works in close cooperation with universities, agencies, institutes, NGOs and chambers.
UMIS-SMEA, founded in 1999 by its President Katarina Jagic, represents a vision of entrepreneurship development through its mission of developing an enterprise culture in Croatia. The organization attaches great importance to the role of young people in creating such a culture and sees SMEs as the heart of the economy and a catalyst, providing jobs and innovation.
ESBA shares similar beliefs with UMIS - SMEA and, having cooperated closely with the organization in the past, is certain of a fruitful collaboration in the future.
