THE EUROPEAN SMALL BUSINESS ALLIANCE CONGRATULATES THE NEWLY ELECTED EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
The European Small Business Alliance (ESBA) congratulates the newly elected European Parliament and wishes it a fruitful and successful term in 2009 - 2014. ESBA hopes that both newly- and re-elected MEPs appreciate the importance of SMEs to lift our European economy from its current downturn.
Whilst efforts have been made towards creating a healthier environment for Small and Medium Enterprises, which ESBA applauds, much is still ahead of us. Issues such as access to finance, late payments by both businesses and institutions, and administrative burden are still very much alive for small businesses in the European Union. It is now up to the new European Parliament to make the effort towards combating these problems.
The European Small Business Alliance firmly believes that healthy SMEs are the solution to the current economic crisis. Creating the best possible environment for them should therefore be the European Union's absolute priority.
Tina Sommer said:
"I would like to congratulate the newly elected European Parliament. Much has been done last term towards improving SME policy. However, we still have a long road ahead of us with regards to enabling SMEs to get our European economy back on track. I sincerely hope the new Parliament is aware of this and I urge them to do whatever is in their power to help us create the best possible environment for our European SMEs."
